There are 3 pre-drilled screw holes on each side that pull the frame snug and eliminate any gap for light to get through. The blind moves fluidly on the rail and there are no gaps and even in direct sunlight does not let any light through. The pole that came with the kit is a little wobbly when fully extended but otherwise built well. More to come on whether the blind holds up being opened and closed several times a day but as of right now I am a happy customer. This is a very free way of operation by a hand lever.
